It was instant love! The first time I pulled the wire between my fingers, I knew it was for me; a hobby that combined two of my loves, beautiful gemstones and tools. This was supposed to be my sister's project; something to do while she cared for our mom. However, after looking at the mechanics of wirewrapping, she wanted no part of it. I, however, was smitten and Gems 'n Wire was born!
I am always honing my skills, learning new techniques, such as metalsmithing and increasing my knowledge of gemstones. With two courses with the Gemological Institute of America completed, I look forward to continuing my education in gemology.
